UNITY’S FIFTH MAJOR PRINCIPLE:

Live these Truths.

It is wonderful to learn about spiritual principles, but the best principle of all is to actually use them. Haven’t we all learned about dozens—maybe hundreds—of absolutely perfect spiritual principles. But they don’t mean a thing unless we put them into practice. This life becomes a laboratory where we get to apply spiritual principles like love, forgiveness, acceptance, and truth to every person we meet; every situation we encounter; every challenge that life plunks in our path.

  • So we take everything we have learned and start applying it to ourselves.
  • Then we branch out a little bit more and use them with the people we meet at church or our spiritual center.
  • Then we extend the same ideas to family and friends.
  • We take the next step and use these spiritual tools with casual acquaintances, strangers, and even enemies.
  • We employ them with the conditions life brings, too.

And as we do this, we start realizing that love works. It transforms us and others.  Forgiveness is a great tool that changes us and others.  Acceptance gives the gift of freedom to us and others.  And, as cliché as it sounds, the truth really does set us and others free.

Spiritual principles are supposed to be used. With everyone.  In each situation. Always
