UNITY’S SECOND MAJOR PRINCIPLE:

The Presence of God is in every person.

The very essence of God is within us. We are inherently good and so is every person we meet.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience.  Each of us has a human consciousness that is deeply connected to ideas of separation, fear, and lack.  Our responsibility in this life is to remember our spiritual consciousness, too.  We are on a journey from separation to wholeness; from fear to love;  from lack to abundance.  And we make that trip more successfully when we recall the second Unity principle—that the presence of God is in every person.

The presence of God is in each human being we meet (and that includes us, too).  Our job is to begin seeing that truth every day.  We believe that deep within us is the Divine Spark. It goes by many names:   the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Christ Consciousness.  In Christianity, Jesus promised that he would send us the Divine Comforter to be with us. Hinduism recognizes the same idea when they greet people by saying “Namaste.”  The word Namaste roughly translates into “the part of me that is good and holy and perfect sees the part of you that is good and holy and perfect.”

To let go and let God means to let our spiritual consciousness take over and begin running the show. We can honor our ego-based human consciousness for taking this far along on our spiritual journey, but we have all reached the point when it makes sense to turn increasingly to our spiritual consciousness for direction, purpose, and decisions. Honor the very essence of God within you and within others. It propels us along on our spiritual journeys.  It nudges us to be completely and totally who we are—children of God and expressions of love.
